Museum

Musée Picasso

You will find the Musée Picasso in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, in the Marais. The exhibition space was built within the historical Hôtel Salé. The museum was established a year after Pablo Picasso's death, and has been home to much of his work ever since. Highlights include Picasso's 1901 self-portrait from his Blue Period, "Mandolin and Clarinet" from 1915, the "Portrait of Olga Kolkova" from 1917, and "Massacre in Korea," from 1951.

The collection is based primarily on donations and gifts from Picasso's heirs. Therefore, many of the painter's early drawings are part of the collection. And over 17,000 written documents and numerous photographs offer visitors a very personal
insight into the artist's life and work.
