Avenue des Champs-Élysées

The Champs-Élysées runs through the northwestern part of the 8th arrondissement of Paris and offers one of the most important visual axes in the world. You can see the large Obelisk at the Place de la Concorde and the famous, 50 meter high Arc de Triomphe, which was built at the beginning of the 19th century and commemorates the victories of Napoleon after the Battle of Austerlitz. It also houses the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I.

The Champs-Élysées offers excellent shopping. And all major automotive companies in France—first and foremost Citroën and Peugeot—can be found on the boulevard. Also on the Champs-Élysées, enjoy cabaret at the Lido Revue Theater, in a former pool of same name.
