Leicester Square Theatre

Leicester Square Theatre was founded in the 1950's, but has only been named as such since 2008. Initially known as Notre Dame Hall, bands such as the Rolling Stones, Sex Pistols and The Clash played at the theatre in the 1960s and 70s. Now visitors can enjoy shows ranging from postmodern and classic theatre pieces to musicals. Famous international comedians also regularly grace the Leicester Square Theatre.?Classical works by some of the most revered English language playrights, including William Shakespeare and Oscar Wilde, are also periodically performed and can prove extremely popular. Many of the pieces are reinterpreted for contemporary audiences, and even turned into musicals. The Leicester Square Theatre also offers smaller spaces to lesser known performers and artists.
