Tate Modern

The Tate Modern, located on the South Bank of the River Thames, is housed in a impressive former power station. The gallery first opened its doors in 2000 and features works from across the spectrum of contemporary art, including key pieces representing impressionism, cubism, futurism, expressionism and pop art. Marcel Duchamp, Salvador Dalí and Andy Warhol are among the famous artists whose work is on display here.?The permanent collection at the Tate Modern follows the main art historical epochs since the late 19th century, while large individually commissioned works are displayed in the old Turbine Hall. Other temporary exhibitions can be visited for a fee, though the main collection and Turbine Hall are free of charge. Tours are offered daily, while visitors can also hire an audio guide.
